Ebasi project

The changes in our societal structure is forcing many elderly people to live in single-resident homes without family or in nursing home in their private bedroom.

The population aging is progressing all over the world and many types of monitoring system are developedĀ  to mitigate the workload of caretakers.

Sadly, there exist elders without participating in the social activities. These people are suffered from social isolation, which leads to many harmful health conditions, which is becoming a problem.

The outcome of the project is a prototype of an integrated interactive solution that allow elderly people to interact with its living environment in a natural and very intuitive way (voice control) using a tool like Google HomeĀ  (e.g. controlĀ  TV set, play music, access internet for social and news).

The EBASI partners are convinced that creating a good relationship in the community is a useful mean to prevent social isolation.

By creating a good community relationship, social activities will be increased which, in turn, decreased the loneliness feeling.

The EBASI project comes from this scenarios and it has been designed trough design thinking sessions even with users stakeholder.

The project would like to experiment emotional oriented Advanced Microelectronic (AME) and Smart System Integration (SSI) to support elderly people nursing. The project will be based on the technologies designed and developed at Valencia University, specifically sensors dedicated to understand emotional status of elderly people.

These technologies are already designed, developed and well tested by the University, but this proposal is an unique occasion to bring them to the market, thanks to the experience and the support given by the two SMEs present in the consortium, DSTECH and Seides. Naturally all sensors should be integrated to be efficient in a emotional oriented case
